The Algonquin College public relations nonprofit campaign is a cornerstone of one of Canada’s most respected public relations programs. The two-year Ontario College Diploma blends theory with hands-on experience to prepare students for dynamic careers in communications. With no initial budget, students take on everything from media relations to event planning, sponsorship, and community engagement.
In the last 40 years, students have raised more than $500,000 for Ottawa-based non-for-profit organizations and awareness for various causes. Past charities have included: the John Howard Society, Candlelighters, LiveWorkPlay and the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. This year’s campaign kicks off with a launch event, followed by two additional fundraisers designed to engage the public and promote continued support for Harmony House.

“Getting the chance to turn what we learn in class into something that directly helps one of Ottawa’s most vulnerable populations is so rewarding. Harmony House does life-changing work, and we’re humbled to contribute in any way we can.”
